Sunday, May 12th is Mother’s Day….the official one. To me everyday is Mother’s Day. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t feel grateful for my Mom and revel in her fabulousness. (That’s not a real word, I know, and since my Mom is an English teacher that’s what we call ironic.)

Outdoor Family Portraits in Oakland

My favorite thing about photographing kids is getting in touch with that state of childlike wonder that we so often forget.  Imagine if we looked up at every airplane in awe, or found every little pond perfectly entertaining.  These two brothers are a charming pair, and I’ve had the privilege of documenting their growth.  This last session was an amazing milestone, as they are both on the move and really able to engage with their environment.  For the photographer, that means a lot of running around, and I’m happy to do it.

Mother-Daughter Portraits

I first met Kerry when I created her professional head shots.  We had a great session and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting her.  As an aside, she has an amazing eye for design.  We were working in her home and I think I complimented her on every piece of furniture and artwork in the place!
So, needless to say, I was honored and excited when Kerry called to schedule a portrait session with her Mother.  The two of them are so elegant, I just had to share some of the images from our session.
