Sunday, May 13th is Mother’s Day….the official one. To me everyday is Mother’s Day. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t feel grateful for my Mom and revel in her fabulousness. (That’s not a real word, I know, and since my Mom is an English teacher that’s what we call ironic.)

But shouldn’t we pick a day to give special thanks for Motherhood, even though we love our Moms 365? Of course! (I’d vote for celebrating quarterly, but we’ll take what we can get in the federal calendar…there’s a lot to fit in.)

I confess…. I never had an outfit like this as a child. I lived on a farm and played with sheep when I was this age. But these two rocked the pink ruffles like no one else could. All I wanna know is, where do you get an outfit like that?

Baker Beach Engagement Session

We had a great portrait session at Baker Beach! These two braved the wind and cold and you’d never guess looking at the images how chilly it was. We timed the session perfectly to capture the lovely late afternoon light just before sunset. Congratulations to a great couple; I know you’ll have a great wedding in Antigua!

Thornhill Elementary School Auction

Hosted at the best event venue in Oakland, Uptown Body & Fender, the fundraiser was a great success. Kudos to the organizers and designers….great job!

Daniel Hopper Designs: Community Chandelier Fundraiser

If you think of horses when you hear the word “blacksmith”, you’re in for a nice surprise. Meet Daniel Hopper, modern blacksmith. Daniel is an amazing artist… the things he does with metals are truly miraculous.

One of his fabulous chandelier designs was recently accepted at Coup d’État in San Francisco and this past Sunday he held an amazing cocktail party/fundraiser to support this new community chandelier. Once the chandelier leaves the showroom, Daniel will be housing it in a community space for all of us to enjoy.

San Francisco Family Portraits: Baker Beach

Being with children as they play and explore the world around them is a magical experience. It reminds me of the joy waiting to be found in the simplest things: finding that perfect rock to treasure, the feeling of the sand under your feet, running with joy and abandon knowing the soft sand will cushion your landing. Thanks to this charming little one for reminding me of these simple, perfect pleasures.
